TKGA Circle Community: A New Home for Knitters Everywhere

TKGA Circle Community: A New Home for Knitters Everywhere

The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA) has always been more than just an organization—it’s a vibrant community of knitters who share a passion for learning, creating, and connecting. For years, members have gathered digitally in our Facebook group, shared projects on Ravelry, and met in-person at guild events and fiber festivals. Now, we’re thrilled to announce the next step in our journey: the TKGA Circle Community, a dedicated online space designed exclusively for TKGA members.

Launching in early January, Circle will become the central hub for knitters to connect, learn, and grow together. If you’ve ever wished for a place where your knitting questions are answered by Master Knitters, where you can join knit alongs (KALs) with fellow members, and where you can access exclusive resources—all in one easy-to-use platform—this is it.

What is the TKGA Circle Community?

Circle is a modern, interactive platform that brings together everything TKGA members love in a streamlined and engaging way. Think of it as your virtual knitting guild hall: a place where conversations flow, projects are shared, and friendships are formed.

Unlike Facebook or Ravelry, Circle is designed specifically for TKGA members. That means fewer distractions, more meaningful connections, and spaces tailored to your knitting journey.

Here’s what’s already waiting for you inside Circle:

  • Dedicated chat groups: Connect with others who are taking the same course or certification program. Whether you’re working toward becoming a Master Knitter or exploring a new technique, you’ll have peers walking the same path.
  • Exclusive resources: Access reference guides, curated links, and helpful tools designed to make your knitting life easier.
  • Interactive spaces: Share progress photos, ask questions, exchange tips, and celebrate milestones with fellow knitters.

Why Circle Benefits TKGA Members

Community has always been at the heart of TKGA. But Circle takes that sense of belonging to the next level. Here’s why our beta testers love it:

  • Focused learning environment: Unlike social media platforms, Circle is distraction-free. You’ll find conversations centered on knitting, courses, and events—not unrelated posts or ads.
  • Stronger connections: Dedicated spaces mean you’ll connect with knitters who share your exact interests, whether it’s lacework, cables, or certification programs.
  • Exclusive content: From resources challenges and knitters swaps, Circle will host materials you won’t find anywhere else.
  • Future growth: Circle is built to expand. As TKGA develops new courses, challenges, and events, they’ll live right inside the community.

What’s Coming Soon

We’ve been busy behind the scenes, adding features, testing spaces, and solving IT puzzles to make our community on Circle truly unique. While many areas are ready now, we’re also planning exciting additions for the months ahead:

  • Seasonal challenges: Fun, skill-building projects designed to help you learn or perfect techniques.
  • Exclusive pattern releases: The top winning pillow designs from this year’s TKGA Design Contest will be available only through Circle.
  • Knitters Swap: Exchange books, yarn, or notions with fellow members in a safe, organized space.
  • Video-based courses: We’re working to bring our most popular courses online in video format, giving you more flexibility in how you learn.

These features are just the beginning. Circle will continue to evolve based on member feedback, ensuring it remains a dynamic and inspiring space.

How Circle Compares to Facebook and Ravelry

Many TKGA members already connect through our Facebook group and Ravelry forums, and those spaces will continue to exist. But Circle offers something different:

  • Privacy and exclusivity: Circle is free for TKGA members and open only to those with credentials. That means you’re connecting with fellow guild members, not the entire internet.
  • Organization: Instead of scrolling endlessly through posts, Circle organizes conversations into spaces—making it easy to find what you need.
  • Community-first design: Circle was built for meaningful interaction, not for ads or algorithms.

We think members will enjoy Circle a lot more because it’s designed with knitters in mind.

How to Join

The TKGA Circle Community will launch fully in early January, 2026. If you join TKGA this month, you’ll automatically receive your invitation to join Circle once Circle opens to all members. Best of all, it’s completely free for members—no extra fees, no hidden costs.

Once you receive your invitation, simply log in and start exploring. You’ll find spaces for courses, certification programs, knit-alongs, events, and more.

For more information on membership, visit tkga.org/membership.

We’re excited to welcome you into this community and can’t wait to see the projects, conversations, and friendships that will flourish there. We couldn’t have built Circle without the help of our dedicated beta testers. Their feedback has been invaluable in shaping the community, and we’re grateful for their time and enthusiasm.

TKGA members look  for your invitation by email in January, and get ready to join us in Circle!
