If you’ve ever felt frustrated while learning to knit—casting on too tightly, dropping stitches, or getting lost in a pattern—you’re not alone. Every knitter, from complete beginners to seasoned experts, has been there. But here’s the good news: The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA) has a new Learn to Knit playlist on YouTube that can help you master essential knitting techniques with confidence.
Why TKGA’s YouTube Channel is a Must-Watch
TKGA is known for its dedication to high-quality knitting education, and we’ve worked hard to create a YouTube channel that reflects that commitment. Whether you’re just starting out or want to brush up on the basics of making that knit stitch, the Learn to Knit playlist offers step-by-step video tutorials that make learning enjoyable and stress-free.

The Journey of Learning to Knit: A Shared Experience
We all have a story about our first knitting attempts. Maybe you struggled to hold the needles comfortably, or perhaps your first scarf ended up looking more like a fuzzy piece of swiss cheese. Many knitters have shared with us those moments and feelings when they finally mastered stockinette stitch—after weeks of uneven tension and mysterious holes appearing where they didn’t belong. The sense of accomplishment is incredible, and it’s important to realize that learning to knit is a journey, not a race.
If you’re feeling stuck, don’t give up! TKGA’s YouTube tutorials are designed to guide you through the learning process, helping you turn frustration into triumph. Those around you when you knit (family, friends, pets) may not always understand your knitting, how hard it can be to simply count ten stitches, or that you may need to put your project in time out, but members of the TKGA Ravelry and Facebook groups do! All knitters are welcome in these online communities; many have enjoyed the opportunity to meet “in real life” at knitting events!
Hot Tip: Weaving in Ends Like a Pro
Finishing a project is just as important as starting one. If you’re wondering how to weave in your yarn ends in stockinette fabric without creating bulky seams, check out TKGA’s expert article: Tail Weaves in Stockinette by Binka Schwan.
