Semi-circular shawls are a beautiful blend of structure and flow, creating soft curves that drape elegantly around the shoulders. In this class, explore several different way  to construct semi-circular shawls and understand how shaping techniques create that signature rounded form. Knit one or two swatches while learning how increases are used to build the shape, how to maintain stitch patterns across a growing fabric, and how to choose the right construction for your project. Students will also explore cast on options, edge treatments, and simple ways to customize their shawls for a polished, wearable finish.

Shawls from the Center Out Class

Center-out shawls are a favorite for a reason—they start small and grow into something beautifully wearable. In this class, explore several different ways to knit shawls from the center out and how each construction shapes the final piece. Knit one or two swatches while learning how increases create structure, how to read your knitting as it expands, and how to keep stitch patterns balanced across a growing shawl. Students will also learn about cast-on options for center-out projects, edge treatments, and simple ways to customize size, shape, and overall design.

All About Triangle Shawls Class

Triangle shawls can be made in so many ways – all based on where increases and decreases are used to create the shape. Students will also learn how to work Garter and I-cord tabs, discuss edge stitch options, and discover  how to add stitch patterns to their shawls.

All About Rectangle Shawls

Rectangle shawls can be so easy to knit but there are plenty of interesting techniques you can learn to create even more rectangular shawl shapes. Learn about six different ways to knit rectangle shawls and knit one or two shawl swatches during the class.  Students will also learn how to work a provisional cast on, discuss edge stitch options, and discover how to add stitch patterns to their shawls.

Hone your skills and take the mystery out of both the Long Tail Cast On and the Basic Chain Bind Off. Discover the subtleties & versatility of each and be able to use each technique in pattern as well as control tension and elasticity. In this course you will learn: The fundamental structure of both the Long Tail Cast On and the Basic Chain Bind Off, how to work each to create both knit and purl stitches, how to control your cast on and bind off tension, and how to identify cast on and bind off edges.
